Easiest Plum Torte Recipe

Seasonal prune plums started appearing in local markets a short time ago. They’re great for baking…split, pit, and bake them in this quick and easy dessert. I mix the five ingredients in a food processor and then bake in a 9-inch round foil pan. The trick is do it quick and get it into the oven right when mixed. After the cake cools cut the foil pan away and sprinkle with powdered sugar.

I used my mom’s recipe!

Recipe

  1. Cream together 1 stick of margarine and 1 cup of sugar.
  2. Add 1 cup of flour, 1 tsp of baking powder, and a pinch of salt and mix.
  3. Add 2 eggs.
  4. Pour batter into a 9 inch pan and place 24 halves of plums skin side up on top of the batter.
  5. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
  6. Bake at 350 for 1 hour. Cool.
