A Cheesy Homemade Pasta Dish Topped with Vodka for Perfection!
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 LB Penne Pasta
Red Sauce:
- 2 Tbsp Unsalted Butter
- 2 Tbsp Olive Oil
- 1/2 Chopped Onion
- 1 Tsp Basil, Oregano, and Garlic
- 3/4 Cup Tomato Sauce
- Salt and Pepper to Taste
White Sauce:
- 1 1/2 Cup Heavy Cream
- 1 Clove Crushed Garlic
- 1/2 Cup Parmesan Cheese
- 2 Tbsp Vodka
DIRECTIONS:
Prepare red sauce first. In a small sauce pan over medium high heat saute onions and butter and olive oil until translucent. Add basil, oregano, and garlic. Simmer for three minutes. Add tomato sauce. Add salt and pepper to taste. Mix well and simmer red sauce for about 35-40 minutes.
Prepare the white sauce by bringing heavy cream to a boil in a separate sauce pan. Reduce heat and add the garlic and Parmesan cheese. Allow to simmer for 5 minutes. Add red sauce to the white sauce. Add the vodka and let simmer for another 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat and pour over pasta.
