I’m so excited about our new listing at 629 N Citrus and I’m so looking forward to hosting an open house today from 1-3! I love that the living room has a high pitched ceiling, that you can see from the front door all the way to the backyard, and I love the large backyard that’s hedged, has a deck + so much lawn + mature trees! I’m excited for our new lease at 121 S Poinsettia Pl! This house is close to home…literally. Our block is the best with a neighbor’s Whats App chat and an annual block party. Everyone on the block was so sad when the owners at 121 S Poinsettia Pl moved off the block…and we’re looking for equally awesome people to fill their shoes! My mom passed away 12/12/12, so almost 14 years ago, and it’s touching and heartwarming how often My Mom comes up in my daily interactions. On Friday I called our 1107 S Citrus buyer to say congratulations-and-thank-you; the buyer complemented his great experience, crediting My Mom for the lessons she taught me! At parties on Shabbat, multiple people mentioned how before the holidays they’d enjoy asking My Mom for recipes & cooking advice in the produce aisle of the grocery store. On Shabbat afternoon I read Eliyahu and Nechama Don’t Touch My Room, which My Mom purchased for $1 from the library book sale in 1986! I happened upon an elderly woman at the market recently and having My Mom in mind, I drove the woman home just the way My Mom would have done it – giving her a hug and helping her to her door with her packages. What I miss most about My Mom is her enthusiasm, curiosity, and zest for life! My Mom got so much enjoyment from long passionate conversations on the phone, intentionally doing kind things for others, beautiful fashion + design + flowers + good deals, outdoor fitness + exercise, and loving her grandchildren. My Mom had amazing taste, she was a great cook, and she had a real flair for figuring out how to get things just right. Mom would visit my house for a meal, she’d ask me for a recipe, and then she’d always tweak it and make it way better. Mom loved taking leftover food from my fridge and dropping it off to be shared with others. Mom was such a hard worker, and she had unending patience to keep at things until she got it just right. Mom especially loved the Jewish holidays and so when the holidays get close, I always miss her the most. Now that she’s not here, I’m grateful for all the time we spent together and how I loved her entirely with all my heart and soul!
