It was an honor to close the sales at 821 N Formosa #303 (representing the sellers), 426 S Highland (representing the buyers), 1115 S Elm #203 (Devin represented the sellers with multiple offers over asking), and an off market property (Nechama represented the buyers). During the course of a transaction, we end up interacting with clients a lot throughout the time of our working together. For 18 years, the most frequent comment we get when we call to say congratulations to our clients on their closing is how much they’ll miss interacting on a daily basis. I love that we get attached to each other, and that even though our sale closes, we always have that special connection and fondness in our hearts that doesn’t ever quite go away. It’s mutual and we miss the constant interaction when the deals close too!
Our kids were with us for the holidays and it was SO MUCH of all the things – favorite foods, new and old toys, lots of meals, piles of books in Grandma’s bed, singing at the top of everyone’s lungs, cackling laughter, squishy snuggles, and smacking kisses! We spent the holidays loving all the babies to pieces! Because we live so far away from our kids, each trip home is an adventure in getting to know all the people who grew up and evolved so much from the last time we saw them!! As hard as I try not to cry, tears inevitably fall down my cheeks every time we say goodbye, but it was sweet when everyone left. I ran out for last minute plane things with my daughter & baby, so I got to dance with sweet Rika, age 12 months, while we waited in a store. Gavriel climbed into my lap for one last snuggle for the 10 minutes it took to load the luggage in the car. Eliyahu announced exuberantly that Grandma is his Bestie and he wishes he could stay at Grandma and Grandpa’s house Forever. Nechama needed so many giggly goodbye hugs and kisses. Son got Mom’s signature lipstick mark on the cheek, daughter-in-law ran out for a big effusive thank you hug, son-in-law called out the window to make sure to come visit them real soon! And Gavriel wiped with the back of his hand the Grandma Tear that fell on his cheek. Everything everyone says about being a Grandma and Grandpa is true; hands down best part of life! They all only left yesterday but we already miss them so much our hearts hurt!
Wishing everyone an awesome week ahead!!
Xoxoxoxo,
Sheri
