I’m super excited about our new listing at 3835 Linden in Long Beach…that went into escrow before it ever went on the market! In 2014, we met Y+B when we were hired to sell their house in LA because they were moving to Long Beach. To prepare the house for sale, we painted the interior + exterior, including choosing a historical and current green for the original shutters accenting the steel windows. We restored marble. The grounds are magnificent but needed to be brought back to their former glory with fresh trees, bushes, irrigation, manicuring, and care. Finally, the character historical house called for staging with furniture that fit the period and was perfectly layered + curated to showcase the house and highlight its unique blend of abundant natural light, indoor-outdoor flow, and old world historical charm. It was awe inspiring to see the exquisite end result of all the labor that went into the prep on this gem. As we were about to go on the MLS mid July, a local agent asked to show the house, his client fell in love, and we opened escrow for 100,000 over the asking price pre market. Dovid, Avigail, Chaim and Nechama came to visit us for the weekend last week! We always miss the kids when they’re far away, but all the feelings stirred with 3 year old Chaim’s smile and hug is literally everything. Chaim loves to play with sand. So we keep a little covered sandbox on our front porch and every time Chaim comes, we order a fresh bag of sand on Amazon to refill his sandbox, and lots and lots of sand toys. The front porch turns into our beach (sans water). I remember the first time Avigail, my daughter in law, visited us for the weekend after she married Dovid, our son. Seth and I had just traveled to Bora Bora and my new daughter in law wanted to know which I found more enjoyable – a trip to Bora Bora or a visit with a brand new daughter in law. We were strangers then. Four years later, even as a professed neat & clean freak who should hate sand in couches and stuck in nooks and crannies everywhere, I love when the kids and grandkids visit more than anything in the world (and I still have so many places in the world I dream to travel and see!) I live for those dancing eyes with giggly hugs and kisses!
