These Gingerbread Cookies are Perfect Around the Holidays!
INGREDIENTS:
- 2.5 Cups Flour
- 1 Tsp Powdered Ginger
- 1 Tsp Baking Soda
- 1 Tsp Cinnamon
- 1/2 Tsp Cloves
- 1/4 Tsp Salt
- 1/2 Cup Shortening
- 1/2 Cup Sugar
- 1 Egg
- 1/2 Cup Molasses
- 1 Tbsp Distilled White Vinegar
DIRECTIONS:
Mix shortening with sugar then add the egg, molasses, and vinegar. Beat well. Sift together flour, salt, baking soda, and spices and slowly add them to sugar mixture until thoroughly blended. Cover and chill for 4 hours.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Divide the dough into 4 parts. While you use 1/4 of the dough, keep the remaining dough in the refrigerator. Roll dough to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut out gingerbread cookies. Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake for 6-7 minutes.
